Gracefully aging

What to do when you slow down in life?

When I asked this question to a very enterprising lady - a home-maker; who is seventy-four years, this is what she said: Age brings you down no doubt, but yield to the process of ageing. True, the silver linings of greying; the breakage of bonds between us and our teeth; the unyielding body to the dictates of the mind; are all the great indicators of staying attuned to the changing body rhythms. Accept though slowly, the irreversible changes to which our body adapts to.

Anyway yielding to these changes necessitates a general slowing down. Hence even when you take up tasks divide them into portions in such a way you get enough breathing space to recoup strength. Regarding food; cut your portions, not their number. Have a break and travel; if possible using public transport to keep yourself grounded. Living very ordinary is the secret of an elite mind whatsoever.....winked and smiled my super-heroine who was so smart with a close-cut hairstyle adorned with that salt and pepper sheen.  As a general dictum, she added: always learn the art of developing an attitude of let go....never hold on to anything that includes men, material or your own children or even time. For, only the present is yours. Remember, less luggage gives more comfort in our journey of life.

Felt so thankful to my co-passenger in the train who has become another hero of mine.
