A Phoenix bird

Two hours of travelling by two buses was very tedious to me especially when I had to keep standing for long hours with unending traffic jams in the busy hours of Bangalore city.

It was a surprise to meet an old acquaintance who was limping slightly through the aisle of the bus.  Curiosity and concern provoked me to enquire about his inability to walk in the normal rhythm.  "I had met with an accident,"  he said smilingly.  "You ought to have used a crepe bandage on your foot to keep it extra safe." I opined. " But I don't have a leg....had lost it in an accident ten years back...!

Good gracious I couldn't believe his words. I stared at his artificial leg.  But how could a person be so resigned and settled in mind when fate twists and twirls one to such an extent !!!

I couldn't retain my normal state until I heard his voice ringing in my ears again.  "I've got so used to this....I ride my vehicle.  Had even gone for bungee jumping."

For a minute I had forgotten to shut my opened mouth.  But I realised that this incident had changed me a lot.  I forgot all my aches.  Whenever I tried to concentrate on my pains there came my friend's cheerful face with an unexplainable grace that surpassed all his pains.
